87 respectively arrive to twenty five years of age to viz one woman named Beck born 24th January 1800 one boy named George born 16.th January 1815 and I do hereby declare each of the aforesaid negroes to be free from & after the day they shall respectively arrive to the age of twenty five years aforesaid In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this twelfth day of September 1818 Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of Michael Dorsey (seal) Richd Ridgely On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Maryland, ann arundel County to wit On the 12th day of September in the year 1818 Came Michael Dorsey of michael before the subscriber associate Judge of the third Judicial District of maryland and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act & deed and each of the negroes therein named to be free from & after the day that each of them shall arrive to the respective age of twenty five years according to the true intent and meaning of the within deed & the law in such cases made & provided ch.d Acknowledged before Rich.d Ridgely Ex.d d.d 2¾ Recorded the 15th day of September 1818 State of maryland sss Know all men to whom these presents shall come Greeting That I Samuel Gover of anne arundel County and State aforesaid for diverse good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do hereby free manumit and enfranchise the following slaves viz my negro boy Elijah Randell aged fifteen years to be free the 1.st day of January Eighteen hundred and thirty seven, my negro Girl Fanny (aged) |
