86. Negroes to be free from and after the day that each may respectively accomplish their twenty fifth year of age. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this ninth day of September 1818 Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of Charles Griffith (seal) Nicholas Worthington of Tho.s Mary Israel On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Anne Arundel County to wit: On the 9.th day of September 1818 Came Charles Griffith before the subscriber a Justice of peace for County aforesaid and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act & deed and each of the negroes therein named to be free from and after the day that each shall accomplish his or her twenty fifth year of age according to the true intent & meaning of the within deed & the law in such cases made & provided paid Nicholas Worthington of Tho.s Ex.d d.d 3 Recorded the 10th day of September 1818 To all to whom it may concern Be it known that I Michael Dorsey of michael of ann arundel County in maryland for divers good causes & considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do release from slavery liberate manumit & set free the following named Negroes from and after the period that they (respectively) |
