7 To all whom it may Concern Be it known that I Araminta Harrison of anne Arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five dollars Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit & set free my Negro woman named Fanny being of the age of about Forty years together with her youngest Child the said mother being able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood & maintenance for herself & child and her the said negro woman Fanny and her child named William I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this thirty first day of august in the year Eighteen hundred & sixteen Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of Araminta Harrison (seal) Walter Harrison John Johns At the foot and on the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit: Rec.d on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of five dollars Current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Araminta Harrison Anne Arundel County to wit: On this thirty first day of august Eighteen hundred and sixteen personally appears Araminta Harrison party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of (mary-) |
