625 I hereby for divers good and sufficient causes and Considerations me thereunto moving manumit release from slavery and servitude liberate and set free the said female slave named Mary and her the said female slave I declare to be thenceforth freed manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my Executors administrators and assigns In Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of march Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and forty two Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of 1st Witness Th S Alexander Chs Waters (seal) 2.d Wm Glover On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland county of anne arundel sc Be it remembered That on this twenty fifth day of march A D Eighteen hundred and forty two before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said State in and for said County duly commissioned and sworn personally appeared Charles Waters Esq he being known unto me to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be a party to the foregoing Indenture and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year above written paid Wm Glover Ex.d d.d Exd 3¾ Recorded the 25th day of march 1842 Know all men by these presents that I Charles waters of anne Arundel county in the State of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to me in hand paid by John H Johnson of the said County the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant and sell unto the said John H Johnson his Executors administrators and assigns my |
