acknowledges the same to be his act and deed  In
Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and
on the day and year above written

5¾   Recorded the 25th day of march 1842


    Know all men by these presents that I Charles
Waters of anne arundel County in the State of maryland
for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred
and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by Dorsey Jacobs
of the said County the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain and sell unto the said Dorsey Jacobs
his Executors administrators and assigns my negro
slaves named Sib and Dennis Sib aged about
twenty years and Dennis about three years  To have
and To hold the said female slave Sib and male
slave Dennis unto the said Dorsey Jacob his Executors
administrators and assigns from the day of the date
of these presents Sib untill the 6th day of march Eighteen
hundred & fifty five and Dennis until the 6th day of
march Eighteen hundred and seventy four and not
longer and be it further known that from and after
the said last mentioned days and to date and take
effect from and upon the same and not before I hereby
for divers good and sufficient causes and Considerations
me thereunto moving manumit release from slavery
and servitude liberate and set free the said female
slave Sib and male Slave Dennis and them the said
Slaves I declare to be thenceforth freed manumitted and
discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me
my Executors administrators and assigns
    In Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and
seal this twenty fifth day of march Anno Domini
                                                                (Eighteen)
