twenty five dollars to me in hand paid by Samuel
Foreman of the said county the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and
by these presents do grant and sell unto the said
Samuel Foreman his Executors administrators and
assigns my negro Slave named Viney aged about twenty
five years  To have and To hold the said female Slave
unto the sid Samuel Foreman his Executors administrators
and assigns from the day of the date of these presents untill
the third day of June in the year Eighteen hundred and
fifty seven and not longer  And be it further known that
from and after the said last mentioned day and to sale
and take effect from and upon the same and not before
I hereby for divers good causes and Considerations me
thereunto moving manumit release from slavery and
servitude liberate and set free the said female slave named
Viney and her the said female slave I declare to be
thenceforth freed manumitted and discharged from all
manner of service or servitude to me my Executors
administrators and assigns  In Witness whereof I
hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of
March Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and forty two

    On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit
       State of maryland County of anne arundel sct
             Be it remembered That on this twenty fifth day
of march A D Eighteen hundred and forty two before the
subscriber a Justice of the peace of said State in and
for said County duly Commissioned and sworn personally
appeared Charles Waters Esq he being known unto me
to be the person who is named and described as and
professing to be party to the foregoing Indenture and
