605 two Children Daniel and mary Elizabeth we do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to us our Executors or administrators for ever In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this twenty first day of april in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty Signed Sealed and delivered Jn.o Mercer (seal) in the presence of Wm Glover N H Green John Collinson (seal) At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this twenty first day of april in the year Eighteen hundred and forty personally appears John Mercer and John Collinson they being personally known to me to be parties to the within instrument of writing before me the subscribers or Justices of the peace of the State of maryland for the county aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be their act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negroes as therein mentioned to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to us or to any claiming under us and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Exd Acknowledged before Wm Glover 3¼ Recorded the 21.st day of april 1840 To all whom these presents shall come Greeting Be it known That I Abner Linthicum of Anne Arundel County and State of maryland for the consideration of two hundred dollars in hand paid and for divers good causes and Considerations me thereunto moving have and by these presents do manumit set free and Liberate from slavery a Negro woman called Eliza Queen and her child (Joseph) |
