604 Anne Arundel County sc On this fourth day of November Eighteen hundred and thirty nine before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland and for the County aforesaid personally appears Patrick Henry OReilly whose name is signed and his seal affixed to the foregoing Instrument of writing as party to the same and therein professing to be party and acknowledged the said Instrument of writing as his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and expressed and the negro man therein named called Nace and Commonly known by the name of Nace Burgess to be henceforth manumitted and absolutely liberated and discharged from slavery and all servitude or service to him his Executors administrators as to my and every person claiming under him and to be henceforth and forever free emancipated and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before Exd Lewis Sutton Sr paid 3½ Recorded the 24th day of February 1840 To all whom it may concern Be it known That we John Mercer and John Collinson of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and Considerations as thereunto moving have released from Slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free one Negro woman named Harriet Sparrow being of the age of Thirty three years and her two Children Daniel and mary Elizabeth and her the said Harriet being able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said Negro woman named Harriet Sparrow and her two |
