603 At the foot of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County sc Acknowledged before me one of the Justices of the peace for the City of annapolis by the within named Richard Ireland Jones this day of February in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & forty Joseph Sands Exd Ex.d d d 3 Recorded the 6 day of February 1840 To all whom it may Concern be it known that I [illegible] Henry OReilly of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good and valuable Considerations me thereunto moving and for the further Consideration of twenty five dollars Current money to me in hand paid before the signing and delivery of these presents (the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do release from slavery liberate manumit emancipate and set free my negro man Nace commonly called known by the name of Nace Burgess being of the age of forty years of sound mind and body and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man Nace commonly known by the name of Nace Burgess I do hereby declare pronounce and free claim to be henceforth absolutely free to liberated manumitted and discharged from slavery and from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators and to any person claiming under me for ever.
