596 of seven years from the date hereof on the State of Pennsylvania to which state he is to be moved and to obey dutifully all his said masters lawful Commands & to do all things that an apprentice is bound to do for a master. And the said Isaac Richardson for and in Consideration of the foregoing covenants of the said Samuel to be by him faithfully performed doth hereby manumit and set free the said Samuel and remise release relinquish and quit claim to the said Samuel all his right or interest in him as a slave under the laws of maryland. In Testimony whereof we hereunto set our hands & affixed our seals the day & year first aforesaid Sealed & delivered in Thos B Richardson presence of us ^& her assigns [illegible]^ Isaac C for Isaac Richardson (seal) Anderson, Tho.s Burgess his Levi Chambers Samuel X Price (seal) mark On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Ann Arundel County sct On this fourth day of march 1839 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace personally appears Thomas B Richardson for Isaac Richardson and Samuel Price and severally acknowledged the within Indenture or Instrument of writing to be their acts and deeds according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Given under my hand and seal the day and year above written Ex.d d.d I C Anderson chd 4¼ Recorded the 18th day of march 1839 This Agreement made this fourth day of March in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & thirty Eight Between Thomas B Richardson ^agent^ for Isaac Richardson of the one part and Alice Doyle (of) |
