588 this first day of September in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty Eight Witness Edward Warfield Juliet Warfield (seal) Bela Warfield At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On the first day of September in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty Eight before me a justice of the peace in and for said County personally appeared the above named Juliet Warfield who is known by me to be the Identical person above named and acknowledge the above deed of manumission to be her act and deed Ex.d d.d Acknowledged before Edward Warfield chd 3 Recorded the 23d day of october 1838 To all whom it may Concern: Be it known That I Sarah G Warfield of Anne Arundel County Maryland in consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid and believing that freedom is the right of all the human family at years of discretion do therefore hereby manumit and set free (subject to the laws of this State) my mulatto boy Columbus six years of age on the Eleventh day of the present month August as soon as he shall arrive at the age of thirty years and also I do hereby manumit and set free my mulatto Girl Eliza Eleven years of age on the 21st day of november and as soon as she shall arrive at the age of twenty Eight years and her posterity shall be free males at the age of twenty five years and females at the age of twenty years.
