579 the full consideration money within mentioned his his Joshua X Young Jeremiah X Jones (seal) mark mark Ely S Brown Ann Arundel County to wit On this ninth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty six personly appears Jeremiah Jones party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro man within named to be at his death liberated manumitted and discharged from all services or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the Acts of assembly in such cases made and provided paid Acknowledged before Ely S brown 4 Recorded the 21st day of November 1836 To all whom it may Concern Be it known that I John Childs of Anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of Two hundred & fifty dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my Negro man named William Lomax being of the age of Forty two years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said Negro man named William Lomax I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever.
