562 good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also for the further sum of five dollars Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery manumit liberate and set free the following negroes to wit my negro woman Sarah whitaker aged twenty five years to be free at the age of thirty four years that is to say nine years from the date hereof and the said Sarah whitaker's child Robert aged ten months to be free when he arrives to the age of twenty eight years and the said negro woman and her child I do declare to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my executors or administrators forever on the above conditions above described In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 25 day of October Eighteen hundred and thirty four the word eight interlined before signing Sign'd sealed and deliver'd in presence of Tho E Sudler (seal) Gideon White William McNeir At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County Sst On this 30.th day of October 1834 appear'd the above named Thomas E Sudler before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said county and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning and the act of assembly in such case made and provided Gideon White 2¾ Recorded the 8.th day of January 1835 |
