560 mentioned it being the full consideration money Amos Clark Anne arundel County to wit On this twenty first day of April Eighteen hundred and thirty four personally appears Amos Clark party to the above instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for the said county and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro and mulatto men therein named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to all claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided paid Acknowledged before Th J Brice 4 Recorded the 25.th day of August 1834 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Nelson Nichols of Anne Arundel County in the state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro boy named Samuel Garrett being of the age of sixteen years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro boy named Samuel Garrett I do declare to be free manumitted and discharged from and after the first day of January one thousand eight hundred and forty eight from and after which time aforesaid from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors |
