536 the state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one dollar current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my mulatto man named Charles being of the age of thirty two years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said mulatto man named Charles I do declare to be hencefourth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this tenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two his Signed sealed and delivered Ephraim X Warfield sen.r (seal) In the presence of mark Edward Warfield Ephraim Warfield Jun.r At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit: Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of one dollar Current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned his Ephraim X Warfield (seal) mark Anne Arundel County to wit: On this 10.th day of May 1832 personally appears Ephraim Warfield sen.r party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of the state of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned. and the mulatto man within named to be |
