do declare to be lawfully manumitted liberated and
set free from all manner of servitude or service whatever
to me my Executors or administrators for Ever
             In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and affixed my seal this 21.st day of May 1832

On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit
          Anne Arundel County to wit:  On this 21.st day of
May 1832 personally appears Isaac Dorsey party to the
within instrument of writing before me the subscriber
a Justice of the peace of the County and state aforesaid
and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for
the purposes therein mentioned according to the
true intent purport and meaning thereof and the
acts of assembly in such case made and provided
ch.d         acknowledged before         Nathan Shipley

To all whom it may concern that I Sophia Stephens
of Anne Arundel County and state of Maryland
being the sole heir and representative of Solomon
Edwards late of Anne Arundel County deceased for
divers good causes me thereunto moving as for the
further consideration of the sum of five dollars to me in
hand paid have released from slavery liberated
manumitted and set free and by these presents do
hereby release from slavery manumit and set free
my negro woman named Henny Jackson being of the
age of twenty one years and able to work and gain a
sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the
