527 release from slavery manumit and set free my negro man named Charles sometimes called Charles Butler being under forty five years of age of a healthy constitution sound in mind and body and capable by labour to procure to him sufficient food and raiment with other requisite necessaries of life In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eighth day of March in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty two witness Eliza Maynadier Henry Maynadier (seal) James Hunter At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit: Anne Arundel County to wit On the Eighth day of March Eighteen hundred and thirty two personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County Henry Maynadier and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act to and for the purposes therein mentioned and the act of assembly in such case made and provided chd James Hunter 2¼ Recorded the 27.th day of April 1832 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I George Scott of Anne Arundel County in the state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereto moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my coloured man named Philip Buckingham being now of the age of thirty two years of dark mulatto complexion having a small scar under his right eye and a scar on his left wrist five feet five inches in height and now able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance |
