526 in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of William T Childs Lewis Sutton s.r Elisha Dawes At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of five dollars current money it being the full consideration money above mentioned witness William T Childs Lewis Sutton State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: On this 15.th day of April personally appears William Childs s.r party to the within Instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for the said county and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro woman and child within named to be thenceforth free manumitted and discharged from all services to him or any claiming under him from and after the dates affixed to them severally according to the acts of assembly in such cases made and provided chd Acknowledged before Lewis Sutton sr 4 Recorded the 17.th day of April 1832 This Indenture witnesseth that I Henry Maynadier of the city of annapolis in the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have released from slavery manumitted and set free and by these presents do release |
