523 negro man named Bill or William Sims I do declare to be thenceforth free manumitted and discharged from and after the date aforesaid (viz) the first day of Jany Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and forty two from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 23.th day of February Anno Domini one thousand Eight hundred and thirty two Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of William Ireland (seal) Lewis Sutton s.r Jno W Sunderland At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit: Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of money aforesaid and a continuance of Ten years services it being considered at the End thereof the full consideration as above mentioned witness my hand and seal witness Lewis Sutton s.r William Ireland (seal) Jn.o W Sunderland Ann Arundel County Maryland to wit On this twenty third day of February ^one thousand^ Eighteen hundred and thirty two personally appears William Ireland party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro man within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from and after the dates affixed to the within deed or instrument of writing from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly |
