520 released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free the following Negroes to wit a negro girl named Matilda Adams being now at the age of four years and seven months to serve until she arrives to the age of twenty three years and then she is to be at liberty and the issue of the said Matilda shall be free also as they shall arrive at the following ages to wit the Male issue at the age of twenty six years and the female issue at the age of twenty three years and so to the latest generation. Also a negro boy named Jacob Adams Jr being now two years and seven months old to be free at the age of twenty six years and then to be set at liberty I do declare that the above named negroes and their increase at the times above mentioned to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 8.th day of March 1832 Signed Sealed and delivered Samuel Norman (seal) in the presence of us B W Marriott Th G waters At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date ^of^ within mentioned the sum of five dollars Current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned witness B W Marriott Samuel Norman Th G Waters Anne Arundel County Sct Be it remembered that on this 8.th day of March 1832 personally appeared Samuel |
