516 girls to be free at the age of Eighteen years respectively and I do further by these presents give the within named children to their grand mother a free malatto woman by the name of Presila Adison living in the county & state aforesaid untill they shall arive at the ages above mentioned for their freedom and them the said slaves named william Fosset John Fosset James Fosset Levi Fosset Mary Elizabeth Fosset & Elenor Fosset I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this twelth day of november in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one Signed sealed & delivered Mary Ann Warfield (seal) in the presence of Nicholas D Warfield of Bela Washington W Hobbs On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of one dollar current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned witness Nicholas D Warfield of Bela Mary Ann Warfield (seal) washington W Hobbs Maryland Anne Arundel County Sst On this twelth day of november in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one personally appears Mary Ann Warfield party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County and State aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be her act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the mulatto children |
