himself sufficient food and raiment with other
requisits nesecery for life from and after the first
day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty two
    In Testimony whareof I have hereunto set my
hand and affixed my seal this twelfth day of
november in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred
and thirty one

At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit
          Anne Arundel County Sc.t
                Acknowledged before me one of the Justices of
the peace for the County aforesaid by the within named
Benjamin Sunderland as his act and deed this twelfth
day of November in the year of our Lord Eighteen
hundred and thirty one

Whereas we purchased of M.r Hamilton P Moss on
the 15.th day of February Eighteen hundred and thirty
his man a slave for live by the name of Samuel
Hanson and having paid the purchase money and
interest and obtain'd a receipt for the same and being
desirous of Manumitting liberating and discharging from
slavery the said Samuel Hanson  Now be it known to
all whom it may concern that we Charles Shorter
John Smith Jun.r and Henry Matthews of the City of
Annapolis in Anne Arundel County and state of
Maryland for divers good causes and considerations
thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five
Dollars current money to me in hand paid have released
from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and
