510 and sixty negro boy Ben to be free on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and sixty two and the within named negroes to wit: Henry william Jack Ned Delia Louis Letty Harry and Ben I do by these presents declare to be thenceforth and from and after the expiration of the respective dates mentioned within to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my heirs executors or administrators forever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two Signed sealed and delivered in presence of John Sellman (seal) John S Selby Nichol.s E watkins At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit: Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of one dollar current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned John Sellman Anne Arundel County to wit On this fifth day of January 1832 personally appears John Sellman party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and that the negroes within named are thenceforth and from and after the expiration of the respective dates within mentioned to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to him or any claiming under him according to the act |
