488 day of July Eighteen hundred and thirty one Signed sealed and delivered her In presence of Elizabeth X Linthicum (seal) Sam.l Harrison of Jn.o mark Benjamin Harwood of R.d On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On this 27th day of July Eighteen hundred and thirty one personally appears the above named Elizabeth Linthicum surviving administratrix of Joshua Linthicum before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the county aforesaid and acknowledges the above instrument of writing to be her act and deed and the said Ann Edward Elizabeth John Nathan and Daniel therein named to be forever manumitted liberated and set free according to the true intent and meaning of the said Instrument of writing and of the acts of assembly in such case made and provided paid acknowledged before Saml Harrison of Jno Ex.d d.d Justice of the peace 5¼ Recorded the 27.th day of August 1831 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Thomas Price of Anne Arundel County in & state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release manumit and set free my negro man named Edward Dowel on the first day of December one thousand eight hundred & thirty six being of the age of twenty nine years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance |
