of a healthy constitution sound in Body and mind and
capable by labour to procure to herself sufficient food
and raiment with other requisite necessaries of life
    In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this thirtieth day of December in the year of our
Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty

At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit:
       City of Annapolis ann arundel County state of
Maryland Ss.  acknowledged before me one of the
Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid by the within
named Sarah E Murray as her act and deed this thirtieth
day of December in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty
paid                                                      Gideon Pearce

    To all whom it may concern be it known that I John
Boston of anne arundel County in the state of Maryland
for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto
moving as also in further consideration of five dollars current
money to me in hand paid have released from slavery
liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents
do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set
free my negro woman named Charlotte Boston being of
the age of Twenty Eight years and able to work and
gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her
the said negro woman Charlotte Boston I do declare to be
henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all
manner of service or servitude to me my executors or
administrators forever
          In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and affixed my seal the Twenty seventh day of June in
