480 manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted from the several dates affixed according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided chd Acknowledged before Lewis Sutton s.r 4 Recorded the 28.th day of March 1831 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Sarah E Murray of the City of Annapolis state of Maryland for divers and good reasons and considerations me thereto moving as also in further consideration of one dollar current money to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negroe man named David sometimes called David Brown about forty years of age of a healthy constitution sound in body and mind and capable by labour to procure to himself sufficient food and raiment with other requisite necessaries of life In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of December in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty witnesses Gideon Pearce Sarah E Murray (seal) D Murray At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit City of Annapolis ann arundel County state of Maryland S S acknowledged before me out of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid by the within named Sarah E Murray as her act and deed this thirtieth day of December in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty paid Gideon Pearce Ex.d d.d 2 Recorded the 2.d day of June 1831 |
