474 free on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and thirty six negro woman Ann aged nineteen years to be free on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and thirty seven negro boy Jack aged sixteen years to be free on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and forty on and negro child Caroline aged one year to be free on the first day of January Eighteen and fifty five and I do also hereby declare that the issue or increase of the above described female negroes should they hereafter have any at the years or age of Twenty five each shall be free and I do hereby declare the above described negroes to be discharged from all manner of service to me my heirs Executors or administrators from and after the periods above limited for their respective freedom In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this seventh day of February Eighteen hundred and thirty one Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of John Childs (seal) Cephas Simmons Jos G Harrison On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit: State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: hundred and thirty one personally appeared the within named John Childs before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said county and acknowledged the within deed of manumition to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negroes therein named to be Entitled to their freedom |
