473 whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this seventeenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty one Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Th G Waters W J Goldsborough (seal) R B Belt Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of five dollars current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned W J Goldsborough Anne Arundel County to wit On this 17th day of January 1831 Personally appears William J Goldsborough party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the state of maryland for the said County and acknowledge the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro Girl within named to be free and after the period above mentioned manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before paid Th G Waters 3 Recorded the 17th day of January 1831 Know all men by these presents that I John Childs of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do liberate manumit and set free the following described negroes at the time and in the manner herein after specified that is to say negro James aged twenty years to be free |
