472 At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County sct On the 26.th day of November 1830 personally appeared Jemima Duvall party to the above instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned and the negroes above named at the respective periods of time above specified to be manumitted and discharged from all manner of service to her or to any claiming under her and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before Rich.d H Merriken J. P. paid A A County M.d 3¾ Recorded the 1.st day of December 1830 To all whom it may concern be it known that I William J Goldsborough of Anne Arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of Five Dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from Slavery liberated manumit and set free my negro Girl named Henny Denby being of the age of fifteen years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro Girl named Henny Denby. I do declare from and after the thirteenth day of January Eighteen hundred and forty one to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude to me my Executors or administrators for ever In Testimony (whereof) |
