In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands
and affixed our seals this nineteenth day of march
in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight
hundred and thirty

At the foot of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit
     City of Baltimore Ss  On this nineteenth day of
march one thousand Eight hundred and thirty
personally appeared before me the subscriber one
of the Justices of the Peace in and for the City
aforesaid Evan T Ellicott and Isaac Tyson
Junior parties to the aforegoing instrument of
writing who acknowledged the same to be her
respective act and deed according to the true
intent and meaning of the same

To all whom it may concern whereas I Samuel
Norman of anne arundel County did on the twenty
fourth day of December in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight
sell to Charles Hodges a negro man named
Jacob Adams for the term of Eleven years
    Now be it known that I Samuel Norman of
anne arundel County in the State of Maryland
for divers good causes and considerations me
moving thereunto as also in further consideration
of five dollars current money to me in hand
