453 foregoing Instrument of writing and acknowledges the same to be her act and deed and for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro woman Juliet to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to her or any claiming under ^her^ to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d.d.d Acknowledged before Richard G Hutton paid 3½ Recorded the 18.th day of February 1830 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Charlotte Hutton of anne arundel County in the state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of the sum of one dollar current money to me in hand paid I have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Hillery being of the age of twenty seven years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintainance and him the said negro man named Hillery I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of ^servitude or^ service to me my executors or administrators after the first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six forever to be free In testimony whareof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Charlotte Hutton (seal) Richard G Hutton Enoch Shekell |
