452 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Catharine Hutton of anne arundel County in the state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five dollars current money to me in hand paid I have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman Juliet being of the age of twenty three years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintainance and her the said negro woman named Juliet I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators and all the increase of the said negro Juliet that may be born hereafter to be free to there latest generations In testimony whareof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fifth day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty Signed sealed and delivered her in the presence of Catharine + Hutton (seal) Richard G Hutton mark Henry C Drury of W.m At the foot of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Received January 25.th 1830 the above mentioned sum of five dollars current money it being the full consideration money above mentioned her Richard G Hutton Catharine + Hutton (seal) mark State of Maryland anne arundel County to wit On the 25.th day of January 1830 personally appeared before me Catharine Hutton party to the (foregoing) |
