450 hundred and twenty nine Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Eleanor Cowley (seal) Richard G Hutton Enoch Shekell At the foot of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Received 17th Sept 1829 the above mentioned sum of one dollar current money it being the full consideration money above mentioned Richard G Hutton Eleanor Cowley State of M.d Anne Arundel County to wit On this 17th day of Sept 1829 personally appears Eleanor Cowley party to the within Instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be her act and deed ^and^ for the purposes within mentioned and the negro girl within named to be henceforth free manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d Acknowledged before Richard G Hutton chd 3¾ Recorded the 18.th day of February 1830 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Catharine Hutton of anne arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in the further consideration of the sum of five dollars current money to me in hand paid I have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate and manumit and set free my three negro children Viz Cassey Ellen being of the age (of) |
