45. Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of James Hunter Samuel C Watkins (seal) Henry Harwood of Nichs on the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Anne Arundel County sc. Be it remembered that on the twenty first day of august Eighteen hundred & seventeen personally appeared Samuel C Watkins before the subscribed a Justice of the peace for anne arundel County and acknowledged the within and foregoing Instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent & meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in such cases made and provided James Hunter Ch.d 2¼ Recorded the 22d day of august 1817 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County sc To all whom it may concern Be it known that for divers good causes me thereunto moving I Joseph Evans of the County aforesaid do hereby manumit and declare free agreeably to the terms herein after specified to wit my negro woman nanny being of the age of Forty years to be free on the first day of august Eighteen hundred and twenty seven negro John being of the age of sixteen years to be free on the first day of august Eighteen hundred and thirty seven and negro boy Harry being of the age of fourteen years to be free on the first day of august Eighteen hundred and thirty eight hereby declaring and acknowledging the said negro woman Nanny negro John and Negro Henry as aforesaid free and for ever discharged from all claim of service right or property whatsoever from me or any claiming under me my heirs Executors administrators or assigns from and after (the) |
