In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine Signed sealed and delivered in presence of Robert Munro Harrison John Guyer (seal) Consul of the United States At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Island of saint Bartholomew to wit Be it remembered that on this fourteenth day of May in the year Eighteen hundred and twenty nine John Guyer party bargainor mentioned in the aforegoing bill of sale or Instrument of writing personally appeared before me Robert M Harrison Esqr consul of the United States and acknowledges the said aforegoing bill of sale or Instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the slaves and servants therein bargained and sold to be the right and property of Lewis Neth party vendee also therein mentioned his executors administrators and assigns according to the purport true intent and meaning of the said Bill of sale or Instrument of writing and the acts of assembly in such case made and provided by the State of Maryland (seal) Robert Monro Harrison State of Maryland City of Annapolis to wit I hereby certify that on this day the twenty seventh of July Eighteen hundred and twenty nine as attorney for John Guyer I delivered to Lewis Neth Esq party grantee named in the within Instrument of writing all and singular the slaves and servants therein mentioned except boy Charles (therein) |
