422 At the foot of the aforegoing was thus Endorsed to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County Ss On this tenth day of April 1829 personally appeared D.r William Hammond party to the within Instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negroes within named to be (when they shall arrive at the respective terms specifically stated) manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Chd Acknowledged before Rich.d H Merriken 3½ Recorded the 21.st day of April 1829 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Anne Stockett of anne arundel County and state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving also in further consideration of one dollar current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Bob or Robert being at the age of thirty years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man named Bob or Robert I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever.
