421 person claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the acts of assembly in such case made and provided paid Acknowledged before John W Ringrose (seal) 3¼ Recorded the 19th day of February 1829 To all whom it may concern be it known that I William Hammond of anne arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving have released from Slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from Slavery liberate manumit and set free the following negroes viz my negro woman Patience being of the age of thirty one years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Patience I do declare to be from the date of this Instrument of writing manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me ^and^ my Executors or administrators forever also my two young negroes Peg and ben children of the said negro woman Patience to be (Peg on the first day of January one thousand Eight hundred and forty three and Ben on the first day of January one thousand Eight hundred and fifty) free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever.
