417 before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland and for the said county and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and for the purposes above mentioned and the said negro girl Sarah henceforth manumitted set free when her term of servitude expired according to the act of assembly made provided The words set free acknowledged before being first interlined Richard G Hutton paid 3¼ Recorded the 2nd day of December 1828 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Sophia Moore of anne arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one dollar current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my two negro Girls Viz Mary aged about thirteen years of age and Zaney aged about Eleaven years of age able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and they the said negro Girls named Mary and Zaney and their increase to be free to their later generations I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever In Testimony whareof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fourth day of November in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight her Signed sealed and delivered Sophia x Moore In the presence of mark Richard G Hutton James U Miller (Received) |
