413 administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Eighteenth day of october in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty Eight Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Mary Ann Ephraim Hobbs (seal) warfield Nichs D warfield of Bela On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of one dollar Current money it being the full Consideration money within mentioned Witness Ephraim Hobbs N D warfield of Bela State of Maryland anne arundel Coty sst On this 18th day of october 1828 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid personally appears Ephraim Hobbs of said County and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the purport True intent and meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in such Cases made and provided paid Acknowledged Before N D warfield of B Ex.d d.d 3 Recorded the 22nd day of October 1828 To all whom it may Concern be it known that I Ephraim Hobbs of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these Presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Lucy (being) |
