    State of Maryland anne arundel County sst
On this Eighteenth day of October 1828 before the
subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County
aforesaid personally appear'd Mary ann warfield
of said County party to the within instrument
of writing and acknowledged the within
Instrument of writing to be her act and deed
according to the purport True intent and
meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in
such Cases made and provided
paid      Acknowledged Before   N D warfield of B
Ex.d d.d
3   Recorded the 22nd day of October 1828


To all whom it may Concern be it known
that I Ephraim Hobbs of anne arundel County
in the State of maryland for divers good
Causes and Considerations me thereunto
moving as also in further Consideration of one
dollar Current money to me in hand paid
have released from slavery liberated
manumitted and set free and by these presents
do hereby release from slavery liberate
manumit and set free my mulatto man
named John being of the age of twenty five
years and able to work and Gain a sufficient
livelyhood and maintenance and the said
slave named John I do declare to be henceforth
free manumitted and discharged from all
manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or
