414 being of the age of thirty Eight years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelyhood and maintenance and the said Slave named Lucy I do declare ot be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Eighteenth day of October 1828 Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of Mary Ann Ephraim Hobbs (seal) warfield Nicholas D warfield of Bela on the Back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of one dollar Current money it being the full Consideration money within mentioned Witness Ephraim Hobbs Nicholas D warfield of Bela State of maryland anne arundel Coty sct On this 18th day of October 1828 before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid personally appears Ephraim Hobbs of said County and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed according the purport True intent and meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in such Cases made and provided paid Acknowledged Before N D warfield of Bela Ex.d d.d 3 Recorded the 22nd day of October 1828 |
