411 the within Deed of manumission to be his act and deed according to the True Intent & meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in such Cases made & provided In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal Day & year first above written paid Lloyd Selby (seal) 2½ Recorded the 21st day of october 1828 To all whom it may Concern be it known that I Mary Ann warfield of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these Presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my mulatto man named Edward being of the age of twenty seven years and able to work and Gain a sufficient livelyhood and maintenance and the said slave named Edward I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Eighteenth day of october 1828 Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of Ephraim Hobbs Mary ann warfield Nicholas D warfield of Bela (seal) On the Back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of one dollar Current money it being the |
