410 woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any Claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such Cases made and provided Ex.d d.d Acknowledged Before Edward warfield Chd 3 Recorded the 20th day of October 1828 This Indenture witnesseth that I Isaac Dorsey of anne arundle County In the State of maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of one Cent to me in hand paid and In Consideration of love & natural affection the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have manumitted set free and by these presents do release from slavery manumit & set free my Daughter margaret aged Eight years on the 28th day of December in the year 1828 to be free at the age of Eighteen years of a healthy Constitution sound in Body and mind and Capable by labour to procure to herself sufficient food and Raiment with other necessary requisites of life In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this his Witness Lloyd Selby Isaac X Dorsey (seal) Caleb Cook mark on the Back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Anne arundel County to wit On this seventeenth day of October in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight Came Isaac Dorsey before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid and acknowledged (the) |
