409 the State of maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these Presents do hereby release from Slavery liberate manumit and set free my Negro woman named Harriott being of the age of thirty one years and able to work and Gain a sufficient livelyhood and maintenance and her the said Negro woman named Harriott I do declare to ^be^ henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this seventeenth day of October in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and Twenty Eight Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of John W Ringrose Hammond welsh (seal) Edward Warfield On the Back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of one dollar Current money it being the full Consideration money within mentioned test John W Ringrose Hammond welsh Anne Arundel County to wit On this seventeenth day of October 1828 personally appears Hammond welsh party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the Negro (woman) |
