406 free at sixteen years of age In Witness Whereunto I herby set my hand and seal this 18th day of august Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight William P Hardesty (seal) acknowledged before me one of the Justices of the peace for anne arundel County by william as his act and deed this 18th day of August Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight Chd Thomas T Simmans 3 Recorded the 19th day of august 1828 To all whom it may Concern be it known that I Edward williams of the City of annapolis in anne arundel County for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving and likewise for the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do liberate manumit and set free my negro woman slave named ann being of the age of thirty Eight years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro ann I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 4th day of october 1828 Signd Sealed and deliverd in presence of Gideon White Edwd Williams (seal) James Allison |
