404 Catharine aged nine years to be free on the first day of January in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty Eight and all her Increase that born during the Term of her servitude to be free males at twenty one and females at the age of sixteen years to there latest Generations and the said Negroes Robert and Catharine I do declare to be hence forth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators when their respective term of servitude expires for ever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this tenth day of may in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty Eight Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Richard G Hutton Philip Darnall of Btt (seal) Henry C Drury of Cha On the Back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Received May 10th 1828 the within mentioned sum of one dollar Current money it being the full Consideration money before mentioned Richard G Hutton Philip Darnall of Btt (seal) State of Md A A County to wit on this 10th day of may 1828 personally appears Philip Darnall of Bennett party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the state of maryland for the said County and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negroes within mentioned Robert and Catharine to be henceforth manumitted and (discharged) |
