402 henceforth free and manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my heirs Executors and administrators and assigns forever In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Tenth day of July 1828 Signd Sealed and delivered his in presence of Gideon White Thomas x Wilson (seal) Th G Waters mark On the Back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Ann Arundell County sc On the 10 day of July 1828 appear the above named Thomas Wilson before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for said County and Acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed paid Gideon White 2¼ Recorded the 10th day of July 1828 State of maryland anne arundel County to wit Whereas my late Husband John Maccubbin of the County and State aforesaid deceased by his last will and Testament devised and bequeathed a Certain Negro Man slave named Phil or Philip Jacobs unto me for and during my natural life and after my decease to be free as may more fully be seen by having reference unto said last will and testament Now be it known to all men by these Presents that I Ellinan Maccubbin widow of the said John Maccubbin for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving have released unto the said Phil or Philip Jacobs all right title Claim interest or demand that I have unto the said Phil (or) |
