401 have released from slavery manumitted and set free And by these Presents do release from slavery manumit and set free with her increase my mulatto Girl named maria aged about Eighteen months the daughter of my woman named Hess and now in the possession of my daughter Harriet Ditty from and after she shall arrive at the age of sixteen years In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 17th day of June 1828 his Test William OHara Benjamin X Winterson (seal) B W Marriott mark On the Back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit On this 17th day of June 1828 appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace anne arundel County appears Benja Winterson and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed for the Purposes therein mentioned according to the True intent and meaning thereof & the act of assembly in such Case made & provided Chd Acknowledged Before William OHara 2½ Recorded the 5th day of July 1828 To all whom it may Concern be it known that I Thomas Wilson of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good Causes me thereunto moving and also for the further Consideration of Ten dollars Current to me in hand Paid have released from Slavery manumitted and set free and by these Presents do liberate manumit and set free negro Henry Wilson my son and slave aged about twenty three years and able to work and gain a livelihood and him the said Henry Wilson I do declare to be (henceforth) |
