400 thirty six and one negro boy named Dick aged about sixteen years to be free on the twenty fifth day of December Eighteen hundred and thirty seven all of which said slavers I declare to be free from the dates aforesaid and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my Executors or admrs forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this day of may in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and Twenty Eight Signed Sealed and delivered Henry Hammond (seal) in the presence of Stephen Boone On the Back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland anne arundel County to wit Be it remembered that on this twenty fourth day of may Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County aforesaid the within named Henry Hammond and acknowledged the within instrument of Writing to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned according to the act of assembly in such Case made and provided paid Acknowledged before Ex.d d.d Richard H Merriken 3½ Recorded the 24th day of May 1828 Know all men by these Presents that I Benjamin Winterson of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving and for and in Consideration of the sum of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge (have) |
