399 Personally appears William Shipley before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the negro slave therein mentioned to be free and after the 5th day of February Eighteen hundred and thirty five liberated manumitted and set free according to the acts of assembly in such Case made and provided Chd Acknowledged Before Thomas Burgess 3½ Recorded the 26th day of April 1828 To all whom it may Concern Be it known that I Henry Hammond of anne arundel County and State of maryland for divers Good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving do by these Presents Release from slavery manumit and set free the following slaves from and after the Expiration of their Terms of service herein after mentioned that is to say one negro man named Thomas aged about thirty Two years to be free on the twenty fifth day of December Eighteen hundred and Twenty nine one negro woman named Jinny aged about twenty nine years to be free on the twenty fifth day of December Eighteen hundred and twenty nine one negro woman named Ann aged about twenty Eight years to be free on the twenty fifth day of December Eighteen hundred and thirty one one negro man named Benjamin aged about twenty years to be free on the twenty fifth day of December Eighteen hundred and thirty five one negro woman named Flora aged about twenty six years to be free on the twenty fifth day of December Eighteen hundred and thirty four one negro boy named Bill aged about seventeen years to be free on the twenty fifth day of December Eighteen hundred and thirty |
